NDO - The 2024 National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship is not only a playground for students to demonstrate their talents and passion, but also a bridge to help them access new technology trends and develop essential 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and teamwork.
On the afternoon of November 14, in Hanoi, Tien Phong Newspaper held a press conference to announce the 2024 National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship (VSAR) for high school students with the theme "Green Agriculture - Sustainable Development". VSAR 2024 is one of the activities in response to the National STEM Festival, organized by Tien Phong Newspaper and the Central Council of Young Pioneers...
Journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, said: The 2024 National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship is not only a playground for students to demonstrate their talents and passions, but also a bridge to help them access new technology trends and develop essential 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and teamwork. The competition also contributes to inspiring the application of technology in daily life, thereby helping students better understand the role of science and technology in solving environmental problems, sustainable development and improving the quality of life.
At this playground, teams not only compete for titles, but also have the opportunity to be selected to participate in international competitions on STEM, AI, Robotics, contributing to improving the position of Vietnamese students on the global science and technology education map.
This year’s National STEM, AI and Robotics Championships include five main competitions designed to test students’ knowledge and skills, from programming and controlling real-world robots to developing innovative software applications. Specifically:
The National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship with the theme "Green Agriculture - Sustainable Development" will be a playground for teams to demonstrate their robot design and programming skills through the Sowing challenge. Teams will have to build a robot capable of performing operations such as picking up seeds, moving and sowing seeds into specified cells. This is a practical challenge to help students understand the application of robots in improving agricultural production processes and developing environmentally friendly agricultural models.
The IYRC Vietnam 2024 tournament with the theme "Green Energy" will include many different competitions, such as: robot soccer, robots running on renewable energy and robot model creation. Through this tournament, students will have access to and apply advanced technologies, while raising awareness about environmental protection and clean energy use.
The MakeX Championship, themed "Smart Delivery Robots", challenges teams to program and control robots to perform transportation and delivery tasks in a supply chain model. Conquering this challenge helps students better understand the role of robots in the field of transportation and logistics, and find solutions to contribute to improving economic efficiency and protecting the environment.
Tekmonk Coding Olympiad is a creative programming competition for students from grades 3 to 12 with the theme "Future School". The teams will apply programming skills to develop creative software, applied in learning and life. With these challenges, students can freely create, design and complete their own products.
The Virtual Robot Championship - ViRC with the theme "Rapid Relay" challenges virtual robot programming skills with the task of shooting balls at targets on a sand table. This tournament uses a virtual robot platform, allowing students without real equipment to still participate, develop programming skills and get acquainted with virtual simulation technology.
The organizing committee of the 2024 National STEM, AI and Robotics Championship is accepting applications from now until December 10. Interested students can register to participate via the official website of the competition at: https://vsar.vn. The competing teams will be divided into groups appropriate to their age and level.
The final round of the competition will take place on December 21, at Quan Ngua Sports Palace, Hanoi.
With the aim of encouraging students’ creativity and learning spirit, the Organizing Committee has built a rich award system for outstanding teams in each tournament. The total value of the prize in cash and in kind is over 400 million VND and over 600 million VND in scholarships from academies and technology companies.
