Coffee prices today, April 12, 2025, in the Central Highlands are the focus of attention as the market continues to record a strong upward trend from the previous trading session. Based on the latest data on April 12, 2025, coffee prices in Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Dak Nong all reached VND 125,000/kg, an increase of VND 2,000/kg compared to the previous session, while in Lam Dong, coffee prices reached VND 123,700/kg, an impressive increase of VND 2,200/kg. However, because today is Sunday, the domestic market is temporarily closed, so today's coffee prices on April 13, 2025 are expected to remain at the closing price on April 12, creating an opportunity for farmers and investors to prepare for a vibrant trading session at the beginning of the week.
The strong upward trend in coffee prices today reflects many positive factors. Global coffee consumption demand is increasing, especially when Robusta coffee prices on the ICE Futures Europe exchange recently fluctuated at a high level, reaching around 5,371 USD/ton on April 4, 2025. This, combined with limited supply due to adverse weather in major producing countries such as Brazil, has pushed domestic coffee prices to attractive levels. In the Central Highlands, considered the "capital" of coffee in Vietnam, the increase of 2,000 to 2,200 VND/kg in areas such as Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Dak Nong and Lam Dong shows that the appeal of Vietnamese coffee has not cooled down, bringing great benefits to farmers.
Not only coffee, pepper prices today also recorded a positive increase, reaching 156,000 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg, showing the improvement of key agricultural products. The USD/VND exchange rate edged up slightly to 25,530, up 70 VND, although not having a big impact, it is still a factor to monitor as Vietnam aims to export 8 billion USD worth of coffee in 2025. Tomorrow, April 13, 2025, domestic coffee prices may continue to increase slightly or remain high. Depending on the locality, price fluctuations will have certain differences.
In areas such as Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Dak Nong, coffee prices are likely to remain at VND123,000/kg. However, if export contracts are boosted, prices could increase by VND200 to VND500/kg. This depends on increased demand from the international market.
In Lam Dong, coffee prices may increase from VND121,500/kg to around VND122,000 – 122,500/kg. This increase is due to favorable geographical location and increasing demand for goods.
However, experts advise against expecting a strong increase in the next few days. The reason is that the world coffee supply remains stable, with no serious fluctuations. In addition, speculation on the international coffee market is in a cautious phase, avoiding pushing prices too high before the holiday. Vietnam's FOB export prices are currently quite high, which could affect competitiveness if prices increase too suddenly.
In general, the forecast for coffee prices tomorrow, April 13, 2025, shows that the market will remain stable at a high level. Experts say that with positive information from the world and domestic markets, coffee prices tend to increase in the coming time. However, it is also necessary to be vigilant against potential risks from the global economic situation, especially the risk of recession.
