Just 3 days after the second leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final, Vietnamese and Thai football teams will face each other again. This time the match is at the club level. The representative of Vietnamese football is Dong A Thanh Hoa Club, playing against Pathum United - a leading team in Thailand.
This match is part of the group stage of the 2024-2025 ASEAN Club Championship. Pathum United and Thanh Hoa are 2 of 3 teams competing for the top spot (the other team is PSM Makassar of Indonesia). Each team has 4 points after the first 2 rounds.
Thanh Hoa Club has a player who just participated in the AFF Cup 2024 in the Vietnamese national team jersey, Doan Ngoc Tan. Because the match between Pathum United and Thanh Hoa took place in Pathum Thani province, right next to Bangkok, Ngoc Tan did not return home with the Vietnamese national team.
