The headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is a classical architectural work built from 1898 to 1909, designed by architect Femand Gardès (France). This work is modeled after the city hall in Paris in the Renaissance style.
The building is designed in the form of a tall cast-iron bell tower with a high pointed tower in the middle, and two symmetrical roofs on both sides. The interior is decorated in Baroque and Rococo styles, with Art Nouveau iron doors... and details such as bell towers, garlands, badges, and decorative reliefs are all highly sophisticated and artistic.

Since 1975, the building has been used as the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. In November 2020, the building was ranked as a National Monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
