Continue to strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and China as "both comrades and brothers"

According to a VNA reporter in Beijing, ahead of the State visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam, Chinese mainstream media such as Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, etc., have published many articles about the relationship between Vietnam and China in recent times.

According to Xinhua News Agency, this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China.

Vietnam and China are two friendly socialist neighbors. The two sides have formed a deep friendship of “both comrades and brothers” during the long years of fighting side by side.

The two sides have learned from each other and made progress together in the cause of socialist construction. At present, both countries are in an important stage of national development and rejuvenation; they are friends on the road to reform and good partners on the road to modernization.

The article stated that at the end of 2023, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping had a successful visit to Vietnam. The two sides declared to jointly build a community of shared future between Vietnam and China of strategic significance, and the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries entered a new phase.

During his visit to Vietnam, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the overall goal of “6 mores,” which serves as a solid pillar and clear direction for building the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future.

Following that, in August 2024, General Secretary To Lam paid a State visit to China. This was Comrade To Lam's first visit after becoming General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The two Parties and two countries of Vietnam and China maintain close exchanges at high levels, jointly develop traditional friendship, consolidate political mutual trust, strengthen strategic communication, promote substantive cooperation, create new momentum for the modernization process of the two countries, bring more happiness to the people of the two countries, and lead the building of a community of shared future between Vietnam and China to go deeper and more substantial.

The article affirms that economic and trade cooperation is an important driving force to promote Vietnam-China relations. China is Vietnam's largest trading partner and Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The transportation efficiency of Vietnam-China international transit trains has been significantly improved, becoming a "fast route" in Vietnam-China economic and trade exchanges.

The construction of “hard connections” of railways, highways and border gate infrastructure has been accelerated; the “soft connections” of smart customs have been continuously improved.

Coconuts, dragon fruit, pineapples and other special agricultural products from Vietnam have enriched the fruit basket of Chinese people.

Raw materials and machinery exported from China strongly support the development of Vietnam's manufacturing industry.

Substantive cooperation between Vietnam and China is constantly being promoted in two directions.

The article quotes the song lyrics by musician Do Nhuan: "Bathing in the same river, I look over there, you look over here; Morning and night we hear the rooster crowing together," the touching melody shows that Vietnam and China are geographically close and have mutual affinity.

On January 15 this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lam jointly announced the official launch of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the rich exchange activities, connecting hearts, creating warmth, shortening geographical distances..., will become a bridge to connect and enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

According to an article in the People's Daily - the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, this is General Secretary Xi Jinping's first foreign trip this year, and also the fourth visit by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, after state visits in 2015, 2017 and 2023.

The article asserts: “The strategic guidance and direction of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries is the greatest advantage and most important political guarantee for the development of China-Vietnam relations.”

The article also reviews General Secretary To Lam's visit to China in August 2024 with the first stop being Guangzhou.

General Secretary To Lam wrote in the guestbook at the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Headquarters Relic Site, which included the following passage: “Vietnam-China friendship will forever be green and forever sustainable!”

Since 2024, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary Xi Jinping have maintained strategic communication.

Ministries, sectors and localities of both sides have maintained close exchanges; cooperation in many fields has achieved many positive results, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, which is of great significance to the relationship between the two countries.

The visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping will consolidate the traditional friendship of “both comrades and brothers” between the two countries, continue to guide the building of a community of shared future between Vietnam and China, and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries.

In addition, the article in the People's Daily also stated that this year marks the final year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan and is a key year in the preparation for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, so both have great significance in continuing the past and opening up the future for the two countries.
