Thang Binh district has 1 special national relic, 1 national relic, 2 national intangible cultural heritages (Ba Cho Duoc procession and Ba Trao singing and dancing), 38 provincial relics and a number of other cultural and historical relics whose dossiers are being completed by the cultural sector to propose recognition by relevant agencies.

From Ha Lam crossroads, go east along provincial road 613 about 5km to reach the national relic of the Ha Lam - Cho Duoc struggle (Binh Trieu commune).

The Ha Lam - Cho Duoc Struggle Memorial was built by the People's Committee of Thang Binh district on an area of ​​8,988m2, with a solid surrounding gate and fence, marking the spirit of the people of Ha Lam - Cho Duoc in the struggle on September 4, 1954.

The historical value of the Ha Lam - Cho Duoc struggle relic is a highlight in the history of the nation's struggle, strongly encouraging the revolutionary struggle movement in the whole South of our country at that time.

The Ha Lam - Cho Duoc struggle clearly demonstrated the steadfast and indomitable spirit of the people of Thang Binh in particular and Quang Nam in general; ready to fall for the cause of national liberation, for the revolutionary ideal.

Tien Chau village cemetery (Binh Sa commune) is a provincial historical relic including the Tien Hien temple, Tien Hien tomb and the cemetery - sacred worship institutions that protect the spiritual life of the people.

Tien Chau village cemetery has been preserved for over 100 years, a work that represents the spiritual life and moral ideology of Tien Chau villagers; at the same time, it is the aspiration and belief in a peaceful, prosperous and happy life. The worshiping institution at Tien Chau village cemetery has contributed to preserving the good cultural customs of the local people until now.

Promote value

Mr. Truong Cong Hung - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thang Binh district said that the locality focuses on restoring and embellishing relics using the province's budget and the district's counterpart funds.

In 2021, the provincial historical relic of Tra Son communal house (Binh Trung commune) will be restored with a total cost of 600 million VND. In 2022, the Nguyen Van family temple in Tuan My village, Binh Tu commune will be restored with a cost of more than 1.1 billion VND; the tomb and temple of Nguyen Quy Cong (Binh Tu commune) will be restored with a cost of 1.4 billion VND.

In 2023, the district's budget restored the Ha Lam - Cho Duoc National Struggle Monument with a budget of 100 million VND; and restored the tomb of patriot Tieu La - Nguyen Thanh (Binh Quy commune) with nearly 100 million VND.

In 2024, the district is completing procedures to build a stele to mark the event of the relic site where the Tay Giang Party Cell was established (Binh Sa commune).

Relics in Thang Binh have also been restored and embellished with socialized funding, typically the Pho Thi mausoleum (Binh Tu commune). Through restoration and embellishment, the degradation of relics has been overcome, and cultural and historical values ​​have been promoted.

In recent times, Thang Binh district has continuously organized traditional festivals associated with preserving and promoting the value of relics, including the procession of Ba Cho Duoc (Binh Trieu commune) and praying for fishermen with singing and dancing (coastal communes) along with many cultural, artistic and sports activities.

Thereby attracting a large number of tourists to visit, promoting the image of the land and people of Thang Binh, promoting tourism development. For the special national relic of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute (Binh Dinh Bac commune), the project to preserve and promote the value of the relic has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3490 dated December 21, 2022, with a total investment of more than 5.1 billion VND (provincial budget) with a scale of archaeological exploration and excavation for an area of ​​7.3 hectares; clearing the ground, revealing relics in the area of ​​​​Sang Tower and vicinity.

The project implementation period is 2024 - 2025. The project is included in the list of the province's medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025, but is waiting for capital to implement.

Mr. Vo Van Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Binh district said: "The district proposes that the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee continue to direct departments and branches to pay attention to supplementing the project objectives of measuring, clearing the land and establishing land records for the special national relic of Dong Duong Buddhist Institute, and issuing land use right certificates to preserve and promote the value of the relic. I hope that the Provincial People's Committee will continue to pay attention to supporting funding for the restoration and upgrading of degraded provincial historical relics in Thang Binh."
