With its history, revolutionary tradition and strong will, Tuy Phong people with their diligence and hard work have constantly risen up. Over the past 40 years, the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people of the district have overcome many hardships and challenges, striving to overcome the severe consequences of war. In particular, social security work, care and support for policy beneficiaries have always been focused on by the local government.
Taking care of people with revolutionary contributions
In recent times, especially since the implementation of Directive No. 07 of the 10th Party Central Committee Secretariat on strengthening leadership and direction of the work of war invalids, martyrs, people with meritorious services and the "gratitude" movement, the work of people with meritorious services to the revolution has been implemented by Party committees, Party organizations and authorities at all levels and achieved many important results. Thereby, the lives of families of people with meritorious services to the revolution have been constantly improved. Many war invalids, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs have had the will to rise up and continue to contribute to the cause of national construction and development.
Particularly in Tuy Phong district, one of the revolutionary areas of the province, the locality has identified social security, job creation, poverty reduction, and care for policy beneficiaries as the top priority. Notably, the timely and full implementation of policies and regimes for families with revolutionary contributions is prominent. In parallel, the movements to build a gratitude fund, receive support and sponsorship have been actively responded to by agencies, units, and people in the district. In addition, the work of building and repairing gratitude houses and caring for housing for families with revolutionary contributions has been carried out with attention.
According to the assessment of Chairman of Tuy Phong District People's Committee Nguyen Trung Truc, up to now, basically, policy families and families with revolutionary contributions in the district no longer have makeshift, dilapidated houses. Currently, the district level and all communes and towns have built memorial works and steles to record the names of heroic martyrs. In parallel, the locality started investing in the construction of the district's Martyrs Temple in 2019, completing phase 1 on August 5, 2020 and completing in early April 2021. From the achieved results, it shows that the work of caring for families of people with revolutionary contributions has been implemented relatively well, social security policies have been fully and promptly implemented.
Timely resolution of social security policies
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong - Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tuy Phong district said that in recent years, the Party Committees and authorities of Tuy Phong have paid great attention to the work of caring for policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services, including the worship of martyrs, support for people with meritorious services and those in difficult circumstances. Particularly from the beginning of 2023 up to now, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the district has advised the District People's Committee on visiting and giving gifts to families and people with meritorious services; organizing a visit to the provincial martyrs' cemetery on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao in 2023. At the same time, there is a plan to carry out the task of searching for, collecting martyrs' remains and identifying the remains of martyrs with missing information in 2023. In addition, the unit has advised the District People's Committee to request communes and towns to review and register for support in building and repairing houses for households with meritorious services; Poverty reduction support plan for poor households with members who have contributed to the revolution in the district until 2025. At the same time, select people who have contributed to the revolution, representatives of typical policy families to be visited and given gifts on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the re-establishment of Tuy Phong district.

Also in the first 6 months of 2023, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs advised the District People's Committee to organize the trip of more than 500 relatives of martyrs in communes and towns to visit the provincial martyrs' cemetery. At the same time, it visited and presented 38 gifts to wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals with a disability rate of 81% or higher... with a total amount of 38 million VND. In addition, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the re-establishment of the district, the unit made a list of 200 meritorious people and exemplary martyrs' relatives who were visited by district leaders and presented gifts with a total amount of 140 million VND; coordinated with communes and towns to review the housing support needs for meritorious people and martyrs' relatives with housing difficulties. According to the Standing Committee of Tuy Phong District Party Committee, after 40 years of re-establishment, the Party Committee and people of the district are extremely excited and proud of the achievements in the past revolutionary period. In the coming time, the locality will continue to promote the heroic revolutionary tradition, form a unified block, strive to train the spirit... determined to build the homeland to be more civilized, rich, beautiful and affectionate. One of the key tasks of the locality in the coming time is to continue to focus on implementing the morality of "remembering the source of drinking water", caring for and supporting policy beneficiaries.
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tuy Phong district, the district currently has 1,946 beneficiaries and relatives of martyrs. Of which, Lien Huong town has 449, Phan Ri Cua 384, Chi Cong 248, Binh Thanh 153, Vinh Hao 124... The beneficiaries include war invalids and sick soldiers with a disability rate of 81% or higher; war invalids and people enjoying policies like war invalids and sick soldiers with a loss of working capacity rate of less than 80%; resistance fighters who were imprisoned by the enemy, family representatives worshiping martyrs...
