According to initial information, at around 4:30 p.m. on June 3, a 7-seat car with license plate 51F - 397.29 was traveling on Rach Mieu Bridge from Ben Tre to Tien Giang. When reaching the section in Tan Thach Commune (Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre), the driver discovered an obstacle ahead so he slowed down to avoid it.

Suddenly, a truck with license plate 50H - 134.81 traveling in the same direction from behind collided with the rear of car 51G - 271.67 and pushed it forward, colliding with the rear of car BS 51F - 397.29, creating a chain of accidents on Rach Mieu bridge.
Car 51G - 271.67 was severely damaged in an accident.
After the accident, a woman in the 5-seater car was injured and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. The front and rear of the car were severely damaged.
Because the accident occupied an entire lane from Ben Tre to Tien Giang and part of the lane in the opposite direction, traffic on Rach Mieu bridge was congested for several kilometers.
