(Dan Tri) - The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just issued a document announcing that it will not organize receptions or accept flowers to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
In this document, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) thanks the attention, leadership and direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city and other departments and branches for creating favorable conditions for the Department to successfully complete its assigned tasks.
Regarding not organizing to welcome guests and receive congratulatory flowers on the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said it has been doing this for many years.

"This is to implement the Government's overall program on practicing thrift and fighting waste," the announcement said.
Previously, Dong Nai Department of Education and Training also issued a similar announcement.
"In order to seriously and effectively implement the resolutions, conclusions and directives of the Party Central Committee and the Law on Practicing Thrift and Combating Wastefulness, the Department has seriously implemented the policy of not welcoming or receiving guests, not accepting flowers or congratulatory gifts on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20) every year. This year, the Department of Education and Training continues to implement this regulation," the notice stated.
Also on this occasion, many high schools in Hanoi announced that they would not accept flowers or congratulatory gifts from parents.
