Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions: Presented 100 gifts to poor Khmer households in Phong Thanh Dong commune

On the morning of March 20, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions (DT&TG) of Bac Lieu coordinated with the authorities of Gia Rai town to organize the giving of Chol Chnam Thmay gifts in 2025 to people of Phong Thanh Dong commune - (photo) .

Mr. Luong Van Pho - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Communities presented 100 gifts to poor and near-poor Khmer households of Phong Thanh Dong commune.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, the leader of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Communities said: The whole province currently has 20,998 ethnic minority households. In recent years, Bac Lieu has done a good job of taking care of the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities; ethnic policies have been paid attention to, implemented synchronously and effectively; the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority Areas continues to be implemented, promptly solving the urgent needs of ethnic minorities in terms of housing, land, domestic water, and job conversion. Since then, the lives of ethnic minorities in the province have been constantly improved, the rate of poor and near-poor Khmer households has decreased sharply.

In the coming time, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Culture will continue to work with local authorities to present 300 more gifts so that Khmer people can have more conditions to celebrate their traditional New Year.
