TPO - From May 13, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao sea route will officially come into operation.
Phu Quoc Express representative said that the Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Administration have approved the pilot exploitation of the passenger transport route by sea on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route. The means of transport put into operation on this sea route will be the 1,017-seat high-speed ship named Thang Long.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the ship will pick up passengers and depart from Hiep Phuoc Port (Can Gio District) at 7:30 am. Passengers can board the shuttle boat at Bach Dang Wharf (District 1) before that time. In Con Dao, the ship will pick up passengers at 1 pm every day at Ben Dam Port.
With a travel time of about 5 hours, the expected ticket price for the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route will range from 615,000 VND/passenger to 1,100,000 VND/passenger depending on the ticket type and peak time. In addition, passengers can buy additional package tickets including transfer tickets, shuttle bus tickets to the center in Con Dao as well as transportation services, accommodation in Con Dao. Currently, the ticket offices of tphcm-con-dao-post1603359.tpo">Phu Quoc Express have also opened ticket sales for this route.
It is known that the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao sea route has been prepared by Phu Quoc Express, departments in Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for quite a long time. The Thang Long high-speed boat was newly built by Phu Quoc Express specifically for this route and Hiep Phuoc port has been chosen as the main port for this sea route in Ho Chi Minh City.

However, because Hiep Phuoc port was previously planned to serve freight transport, relevant units had to propose to the transport sector to add passenger transport functions.
