Loss of appetite and sleep due to exam preparation
In less than a week, millions of students will take the high school graduation exam. Faced with an increase in the number of candidates, about 24,000 more than last year, the race for university admission is hotter than ever.

Although teachers have equipped students with knowledge and prepared them mentally, they still cannot avoid feeling anxious. Many students suffer from loss of appetite and lack of sleep due to exam pressure, leading to physical weakness, especially in the current “final stage”.
Tran Quynh Anh, a 12th grade student at Nguyen Tat Thanh High School (Hanoi), said that her first wish is to be admitted to the International Economics major at the National Economics University. Currently, Quynh Anh is working very hard in the last days to systematize the knowledge she has learned.
“For nearly 2 months, I have not had any Sunday off. If I am not studying, I will go to the library to study. I am very worried because in the trial exams, my score was only about 27 points, this is not a safe score because in previous years, this major required 28 - 29 points” - Quynh Anh shared.
In just two months of studying for the exam, Quynh Anh lost 5kg. The student said that although her family bought her nutritious food and used vitamins, her weight only decreased. Because she often stayed up late, even though she wanted to go to bed early, she still couldn't sleep.
During her graduation exam preparation, Nguyen Mai Linh, a 12th grader in Hanoi, said that she did not need to do any housework. All the housework that Linh used to do was now transferred to other family members. Every day, she just ate and studied.
However, this backfired as Linh always felt burdened and pressured by her family's expectations.

“I often stay up until 3am to solve problems. During this time, I feel my body is exhausted, my face has acne and dryness, and my eyes are dark due to lack of sleep, but I think this is something I deserve to trade for good results,” Linh shared.
Not only students are under pressure, but parents and teachers are also worried with their children. In addition to providing nutritious meals and limiting housework so that children can focus on studying, many parents also help their children look up benchmark scores, look up information, and support their children in completing application documents.
The secret to help students successfully pass the imperial examination
As both a teacher in charge of teaching high school graduation exam preparation and the mother of a university entrance exam candidate this year, Ms. Le Thi Luyen, a teacher at a high school in Hanoi, understands the pressure from students, parents and teachers.
“Pressure and stress are inevitable for any candidate. However, candidates should not let this affect their review process or change their personal life. In addition to having a cool head and a warm heart in the exam room, they must have good health and a stable mentality,” Ms. Luyen shared.
To achieve good results in the upcoming high school graduation exam, Ms. Luyen believes that less than a week is not enough time for candidates to “cram” new knowledge. This will only overload the brain’s thinking, affecting the ability to remember.
The important thing is that candidates must systematize the knowledge they have learned, mainly grade 12 knowledge, and allocate reasonable review time for each subject. For content that they do not understand, candidates should ask teachers to clarify and consolidate their knowledge.
In addition, candidates need to eat nutritious food and sleep on time to ensure good health. Before the exam day, candidates should go to bed early to keep their spirits up and should not eat strange foods to avoid unwanted incidents.
