To be released in November

The 2025 high school graduation exam will be conducted according to the new 2018 general education program. The Ministry of Education and Training has identified this as an exam of a very new scale and nature, and is one of the important tasks in the 2024-2025 school year.

“From the beginning of 2023, the Ministry's leaders have focused on directing with the principle of closely following the direction in Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 88/2014/QH13, Resolution 144/NQ-CP. Accordingly, the organization of the 2025 high school graduation exam must ensure compactness, reduce pressure, reduce costs and ensure quality, objectively assess the quality of teaching and learning; provide reliable enough data for universities and colleges to conduct enrollment work" - Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong informed about the preparation work for the 2025 high school graduation exam on the afternoon of September 7 at the regular Government Press Conference in August.

On that basis, the Ministry of Education and Training has actively prepared and focused on implementing the following 4 contents:

Announcing the high school graduation exam plan from 2025 onwards on November 28, 2023, one and a half years earlier, creating favorable conditions for students and educational institutions;

Issue the structure and format of the exam to facilitate teachers and students in teaching and learning;

Organize training for more than 3,000 key teachers on methods and improve skills in creating questions, regularly checking and evaluating high school graduation exams;

The Ministry has also issued guidance documents during the school year and documents directing the Departments of Education and Training to proactively prepare all plans regarding facilities, human resources, professional plans, teaching and learning plans to focus on the high school graduation exam in 2025.

Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong said that next, the Ministry of Education and Training will advise the Prime Minister this September to issue a Directive on strengthening leadership and coordination to organize the high school graduation exam for the 2025-2030 period.

The Ministry is also developing regulations for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. After receiving comments, they will be completed and expected to be issued in November 2024, 3 months earlier than previous regulations.

The Ministry is developing and will publish sample exam questions for students and teachers to use as a basis for teaching and learning; Continue to organize conferences and training seminars on professional work related to exam questions.

At the same time, the Ministry also directed the Departments of Education and Training to prepare well for groups of tasks such as strengthening facilities and equipment; human resources and teacher training, regular teaching and learning; strengthening the common facilities of the Ministry as well as provinces and cities, especially exam organization software.

"With such a spirit of preparation, the Ministry of Education and Training has been proactive, positive, effective and closely following the guiding principles of the Resolutions as well as the practical situation," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
