In addition, steel, aluminum, and auto and auto parts that have been subject to tariffs under Section 232 of the US Trade Expansion Act will also not be subject to the 46% reciprocal tariff. Of which, steel is only subject to a 25% tariff and aluminum is 10% under Section 232 from 2018 to present.
The same goes for copper, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and lumber; all of which could be subject to Section 232 tariffs in the future. Additionally, gold bullion and energy and certain minerals not available in the United States will also not be subject to additional reciprocal tariffs this time.

Previously, at the end of March, Vietnam proactively reduced import taxes on many goods from the US. Among them, a series of imported goods from the US had their taxes reduced to low levels, even 0%.
Many agricultural products also have their taxes reduced: Frozen chicken thighs from 20% to 15%, pistachios from 15% to 5%, almonds from 10% to 5%, fresh apples from 8% to 5%, cherries from 10% to 5%, raisins from 12% to 5%.
For wood and wood products, the group of wooden products (including products such as clothes hangers, thread spools, yarn tubes, sewing thread reels and similar products, wooden bars for making matches, etc.); the group of seats and parts of seats; wooden furniture have import tax reduced from tax rates of 20% and 25% to 0%.
Preferential import tax rate for liquefied natural gas (LNG) is reduced from 5% to 2%. For ethane, the preferential import tax rate is 0%. Preferential import tax rate for corn kernels is reduced from 2% to 0%; soybean meal is reduced from 1% and 2% to 0%.
