An Giang promotes digital transformation and application of science and technology

Comrade Le Hong Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee chaired the meeting.

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed that in the process of deploying and organizing the implementation of Action Program No. 32-CTr/TU dated December 22, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, the province has some advantages and difficulties.

Regarding advantages, the Party committees, Party organizations and authorities of An Giang province have resolutely and focused on directing and organizing the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW. Authorities at all levels have promptly and effectively implemented the tasks and solutions in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

Initially forming basic and specialized databases to serve the deployment of information technology applications and e-Government services towards digital Government; as of March 2025, the total number of provincial-level State agencies completing e-Government is 12/14 agencies, a rate of 85.7%.

Besides the positive results, there are still shortcomings and limitations such as the speed and breakthrough in the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of the province are still slow; the scale, potential, level of science, technology and innovation are still limited; research and application of science, technology and innovation have not made any breakthroughs; the local innovation index (PII) of the province is still low (in 2023: ranked 46/63; in 2024: ranked 51/63)...

After listening to the report of the representative of the Provincial People's Committee, the opinions of the delegates and members attending the meeting, comrade Le Hong Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee basically agreed with the opinions.

Comrade Le Hong Quang assigned the Provincial People's Committee to receive the opinions of the Steering Committee members to promptly implement and complete the Report for submission to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for signing and promulgation.

At the same time, it emphasized some key contents such as: The Provincial People's Committee directed departments, branches, sectors and localities according to their functions and tasks to seriously implement the Resolution of the Politburo, the Government, the Action Program of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

Effectively implement the Central Government's mechanisms and policies on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation, promptly review, amend, supplement and perfect the province's mechanisms and policies to ensure compliance with legal regulations and the local reality.

Research preferential policies to encourage businesses, especially small and medium enterprises and cooperatives, to invest in digital transformation, apply science and technology innovation to improve production and business efficiency and corporate governance.

Promote digital transformation, application of science, technology, innovation in key areas and strengths of the province; strengthen domestic and international cooperation in developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence.

Assign the Provincial People's Committee to organize and launch a competition to study digital technology; apply science and technology, innovation; inspect and supervise the implementation of Resolution 57.

Comrade Le Hong Quang noted that during the implementation process, it is necessary to ensure compliance with the Central's policies, ensure smooth direction from the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; and prevent and combat corruption, waste, negativity, and group interests...
