Since she realized she had a special name, Phuong Dong has always tried and made efforts to make herself as "special" as her name. From studying, participating in activities, to taking care of her appearance..., she wants everything to be "the best it can be".

"That gave me motivation but also put me under pressure many times," she confided.

When she was young, every time she failed at anything, Phuong Dong felt scared. She was afraid of disappointing people, afraid of being looked down upon, and a host of other negative emotions.

As she grew up, she began to think differently, realizing that despite having a special name, she was just an ordinary person, still with certain shortcomings and limitations.

Untying the pressure from her family name, Phuong Dong strives for her goals while learning to accept and be more tolerant of herself.

"If I do something good, I will continue to develop it. But sometimes if I make a mistake, I will learn from it for next time, instead of thinking negatively and blaming myself. I realize that accepting myself is also a way to improve myself every day," she said.

Since the age of 15-16, Phuong Dong has been famous thanks to her name. She calls this an "unexpected" experience that makes life new and a bit... strange.

She has caused a stir on social media many times thanks to her special name. Besides many compliments, false rumors have also started to appear. Many people online believe that Phuong Dong has a younger brother named "Western Prince" or "Southern Prince". At first, she thought it was just a joke, until many people claimed to "study with her and have verified the information". But in reality, Phuong Dong is an only child, and in her family, she is the only one with such a special name.

Phuong Dong is a former student majoring in International Politics and Diplomacy (Diplomatic Academy), won the "Talented Female Student" award and was in the top 5 at the "Charming Vietnamese Female Student" contest in 2016.

In May 2016, she was invited to perform the Hawaiian guitar (also known as the hawaii zither) at the reception for former US President Barack Obama during his visit to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese girl brought a guitar from Hawaii - Obama's homeland - and chose to perform a song called "Aloha Oe" (roughly translated: "Goodbye Love"). After the performance, the former US President went on stage to shake hands and thank all the artists, including Phuong Dong.

"It was the friendliness and warmth of the head of state that urged me to boldly ask to take a photo with him. Luckily, when I raised my camera, Mr. Barack Obama looked straight into the lens and smiled brightly, and so I had a "lifetime" photo," the girl said.

Every time she recalls this memory, Phuong Dong feels both lucky and proud to have completed the performance in front of a special "audience".

Later, during her student years, she participated in many social activities. She is currently a presenter on financial securities.

The job not only helps her develop her strengths as a presenter, but also brings a lot of useful knowledge about personal financial management.

"My goal this year is to improve and develop myself by learning many new things such as foreign languages, dancing, singing... and having more opportunities to experience more," she confided.
