Improving the quality of training for Lao students

Son La College has over 20 years of experience in training Lao students. The school's training quality has contributed to supplementing human resources for Laos, while strengthening the cooperative and friendly relationship between the two countries.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Son La College will receive more than 350 international students and officials from the Lao PDR to study under registered training programs. Realizing that training Vietnamese and training human resources for the provinces of the Lao PDR is an important political task, the school has continuously improved the quality of training and organized management and service activities to create the most favorable learning, training and living environment for Lao students.

Master Hoang Thi Van, Deputy Head of Training Department, Son La College: Regarding teaching, we ourselves determine to improve our expertise. We have many methods to create interest for students, group learning, visual methods, and coordinate with the youth union to organize many activities to foster students' love for the Vietnamese language.

This school year, the school received and trained Vietnamese for cadres from the provinces of Lao PDR before studying intermediate political theory according to Project No. 13 of the Provincial Party Committee. The recruitment of Lao students is carried out according to the plan and targets assigned by the Provincial People's Committee. The school regularly organizes cultural and sports exchange activities for Lao students on the occasion of major holidays of the two countries such as celebrating Lao National Day, Bunpimay traditional New Year, Vietnamese Lunar New Year, organizing activities to learn about the cultures of the two countries to foster solidarity and friendship between the young generations of the two countries.

Student Suc Sa Vat, Son La College: At first I was confused when studying here, but now after 3 months I feel much more familiar. The Vietnamese students are very friendly and help us a lot.

Since 2001, the school has received and trained Vietnamese for nearly 4,000 Lao students and Lao students. As the only school in the province to be granted a Vietnamese proficiency certificate for Lao students, Son La College continues to improve and develop training programs according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training, helping Lao students after completing the Vietnamese training program to meet specialized training programs.

Master Nguyen Xuan Thang, Vice Principal of Son La College: To continue improving the quality of training for Laotian international students, the school directed the examination and quality assurance department to coordinate with relevant units to build a question bank for the Vietnamese proficiency test according to the Vietnamese proficiency framework for foreigners, to move towards complete initiative from the training stage to the stage of organizing the assessment and testing of the learners' results.

The efforts to improve the training quality of Son La College have helped Lao students study with peace of mind, acquire knowledge to contribute to the development of Laos, contributing to strengthening, consolidating and developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and pure loyalty between Vietnam and Laos.
