Apple Intelligence, introduced last fall, works on the iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, along with Macs and most iPads. When you need help from another AI model, Apple Intelligence will suggest asking ChatGPT. However, in the future, Google Gemini and other chatbots may be added to the list of options.
In the latest Power On newsletter , Mark Gurman suggested that Google Gemini could soon become Apple Intelligence's next partner, after it was announced in June 2024 but has yet to materialize.
“While the Apple-Google deal has not been finalized, I expect it to be done and announced at WWDC at the earliest. I also believe there will be more partners involved,” predicted Mark Gurman.
He believes that Claude or Perplexity will be considered as a large language model (LLM) integrated into Apple Intelligence, while Meta's Llama is unlikely to appear. According to Forbes , one issue to consider is how Apple allows users to use LLM. Do they have to sign up from the start or are selected on a query-by-query basis?
Currently, Apple Intelligence users can request ChatGPT help with up to 30 questions per day. Adding new partners could change this calculation, such as applying a limit of 30 questions per chatbot.
That will likely be announced in a few weeks, when Apple unveils major changes to its operating system and software at WWDC25. The annual event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on June 9 (US time).
