According to the report, due to the influence of storm No. 3 (Yagi), there was prolonged heavy rain in Lang Chanh district, causing landslides on the positive slope (the slope from the mountain down to the road surface) in Lam Phu commune. A large amount of soil and rock collapsed into the 2-storey classroom building and auxiliary works of Lam Phu Secondary School.

The project started in August 2023, and to date, the construction progress has reached about 80%. The landslide has damaged and tilted the project, causing cracks in many areas of the wall 5-7 cm wide; some columns are bent and broken on the left side of the first floor; two classrooms were flooded with soil, causing part of the wall to collapse...

The landslide caused mud to flow into the school.
