On the morning of January 15, the 5th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly solemnly opened at the National Assembly House, Hanoi. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended the opening of the 5th extraordinary session.

On the National Assembly side, there were National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly.
In the past time, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, the Secretary General of the National Assembly, the Nationalities Council, the National Assembly Committees, the agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly delegations, the National Assembly deputies, the National Assembly Office and relevant agencies, organizations and individuals have urgently prepared the contents to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision at the 5th extraordinary session.
After the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the agenda of the 5th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh presented the report of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh of the National Assembly delegation of An Giang province from the duties of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
Previously, on January 9, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue signed and issued Resolution No. 956 on the dismissal of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly. Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province, constituency No. 1 of An Giang Province, from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, 52 years old, former Deputy Chief Prosecutor of An Giang Provincial People's Procuracy, member of the 15th National Assembly. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh is among the officials of An Giang province disciplined by the Central Inspection Committee with a warning.
At the 5th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly will consider and approve 4 contents: the draft Law on Land (amended); the draft Law on Credit Institutions (amended); the draft Resolution on a number of specific mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles, speed up the implementation of National Target Programs (according to simplified procedures); on supplementing the Medium-term Public Investment Plan of the Central budget for the period 2021-2025 from the general reserve source corresponding to the increased revenue of the Central budget in 2022 for public investment tasks and projects and supplementing the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for Vietnam Electricity Group from the reserve source of the Medium-term Public Investment Plan.
