(Dan Tri) - In September, the entire Ta Chi Nhu hillsides are covered with the purple color of chi pau flowers. This is also the ideal time to go mountain climbing and flower hunting.
To kick off this year's mountain climbing season, Son Tung (31 years old, Hanoi) decided to choose Ta Chi Nhu peak (Yen Bai) as the first destination in September.
The reason he chose this mountain peak is because there is a famous chi pau flower that blooms only once a year. "After many missed appointments, this year I made a schedule right from the beginning of the flower season, determined to capture beautiful photos with this flower," said Mr. Tung.

The name chi pau comes from the H'Mong people's answer when asked about this flower, "tsi pau" (phonetically chi pau, meaning don't know). Since then, mountain climbers in Vietnam have maintained this highland-specific way of calling it (Photo: Chieu Le).
Chi pau flowers usually grow at an altitude of over 2,000m, and only bloom once a year in the fall, each time lasting about a week in the northern mountainous regions, especially famous in Ta Chi Nhu (Photo: Chieu Le).
The sea of chi pau flowers with tiny buds, purple mixed with white, covers the entire mountain range on the top of Ta Chi Nhu. From Hanoi, visitors travel by sleeper bus to Tram Tau (Yen Bai). Then continue for about 15km to Mo Chi. It usually takes about 8 hours to reach the top of the mountain, if the road is favorable (Photo: Nguyen Trong Cung).
Ta Chi Nhu Peak is the 7th highest mountain in Vietnam with an altitude of 2,979m. The journey to hunt flowers and clouds on the top of Ta Chi Nhu usually lasts two days and one night. Visitors can go independently or join a group to hire a tour guide for a package price ranging from 1.8 to 3 million VND (depending on the number of people in the group).

In addition, from September 29, 2023 to October 1, 2023, visitors can also participate in the first "Step into the clouds" mountain climbing competition - Conquering Ta Chi Nhu peak.
Participating in the tournament, athletes will have to overcome a distance of about 10km of mountainous road.
