Launching electric taxi in Nghe An

On July 22, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 876/QD-TTg approving the action program on green energy conversion, carbon and methane emission reduction of the Transport sector; Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 415/KH-UBND dated June 15, 2023 on implementing the program in the province. On that basis, the Department of Transport issued a document on promoting passenger transport enterprises by bus and taxi to have a roadmap to switch to electric cars.

Implementing that policy, Son Nam International Transport Company Limited is the first taxi passenger transport business unit in Nghe An to convert to electric cars. Using electric cars as a means of business is a partial contribution of the enterprise to the success of the action program, green energy conversion of the Transport & Communications sector.

Currently, Son Nam International Transport Company Limited has put into operation 50 electric taxis to serve the travel needs of people in Vinh city, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu and Thai Hoa town.

To meet the travel needs of people in Nghe An province and the development roadmap of the enterprise, in 2024, Son Nam International Transport Company Limited will invest in developing 305 electric taxis.
