This program is designed, built, and taught by leading experts from the NCA's Policy and Legal Research and Consulting Department and Vietnam Data Security Company (VNDS). Students participating in the program will be trained in-depth knowledge with 60% of the practice time, helping to solve common difficulties and problems in the process of complying with legal regulations on personal data protection.
Recently, the situation of personal data leakage has reached an alarming level, with many incidents involving hundreds of millions of accounts and customer information being leaked from companies and organizations in Vietnam. The main cause of these incidents is the lack of measures and procedures to protect data, along with loose control in collecting, processing, storing and exploiting information.
According to Decree 13/2023/ND-CP, among the measures and conditions to ensure the protection of personal data, businesses and organizations need to appoint a person in charge of protecting personal data (DPO - Data Protection Officer). The appointment of a DPO is very important, helping businesses comply with legal regulations, enhance data security, reduce the risk of leaks and cyber attacks. This also contributes to enhancing customer reputation and trust, affirming the commitment to protecting personal information, while minimizing financial risks due to violations of the law and administrative sanctions.
In order to support and improve the professional capacity of personnel in charge of personal data protection in organizations and enterprises, the VnDPO program is optimally designed, combining theory and practice. It focuses on practical situations, complies with Vietnamese law regulations and is oriented in accordance with international DPO personnel standards. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to analyze, process, and resolve administrative procedures, organize, and implement policies and technical measures to ensure personal data protection activities at their work unit.
Mr. Dao Duc Trieu, Head of Research, Policy and Legal Consulting, National Cyber Security Association said: "Practical training brings many important benefits to businesses and individuals. It helps students better grasp skills, improve their ability to respond quickly and accurately, and better comply with legal regulations on personal data protection."
It is expected that the first training course in the VnDPO Training Program will open at the end of October 2024.
