Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu and Governor of Nara Prefecture Yamashita Makoto took a souvenir photo with delegates from the two countries. |
Also joining the delegation were Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha and leaders of several representative associations in the Vietnamese community in Kansai.
At the reception, Governor of Nara Prefecture Yamashita Makoto expressed his pleasure to welcome Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu and the delegation, and highly appreciated the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Nara Prefecture - a locality with a profound traditional culture and increasingly strengthening exchanges with Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.
The Governor of Nara Prefecture emphasized that Japanese enterprises are very interested in investing in Vietnam and consider Vietnam an attractive market for investors, praising Vietnamese workers working in Nara Prefecture.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome from the Nara prefectural government, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu emphasized: "The Vietnamese community in the Kansai region in general and Nara prefecture in particular always receives active support from the local government in studying, working and living. We hope that the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Nara prefecture will develop more and more deeply in the fields of labor, tourism, education and people-to-people exchange; we hope that the Governor will pay attention to creating conditions for organizing traditional Tet activities for the Vietnamese community in Nara prefecture."
According to Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu, during the visit to Japan by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man in December 2024, Nara Prefecture signed a cooperation agreement with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province. The signing of the cooperation agreement creates an opportunity for the two localities to exchange and learn from each other's experiences in socio-economic development and other fields. Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu respectfully invited the Governor of Nara Prefecture to Vietnam to attend the Vietnam-Japan Local Cooperation Forum taking place later this year.

Representatives of Nara Prefecture acknowledged the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community and expressed their hope that there will be more cooperation programs and cultural and educational exchanges between the youth of the two countries in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue promoting connection activities between Nara province and localities of Vietnam, contributing to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries on the occasion of the two sides looking towards 2025 - the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
On the same afternoon, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu gave a presentation introducing the latest information on Vietnam's economy and future Japan-Vietnam cooperation.
