Hope Foundation wins two awards at Global CSR & ESG Awards 2024

Hanoi Hope Foundation was honored in the Environmental Excellence Award and Best in Vietnam categories at the 16th Global CSR & ESG Awards ceremony on the evening of April 25.

The Global CSR & ESG Awards are judged at both global and national levels. This year, at the global level, Hope Foundation received the bronze award in the Environmental Excellence Award category. At the national level ( Best in Vietnam ), the Foundation won the gold award in the category of Outstanding CSR & ESG Organization.

Of which, the School Hygiene project - which received the Global CSR & ESG Awards in the environmental category - has been implemented since 2022. After two years of operation, the project has built 100 new toilets, meeting the basic needs of 20,000 students and teachers in five districts of Vietnam, including Van Ho and Song Ma districts (Son La); Muong Nhe district (Dien Bien); Dong Van district (Ha Giang) and Hung Ha district (Thai Binh). This year, the project aims to build 70 new toilets in Yen Bai, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An and is expected to complete 400 toilets by 2027, bringing opportunities to benefit millions of students and teachers.

In the category of Organizations with typical CSR & ESG activities in Vietnam, the Fund was recognized for the results achieved after 6 years: 205 newly built and repaired schools; 363 newly built concrete bridges; 3,200 children with cancer and serious illnesses received treatment and nutrition support..., with a total sponsorship value of 203 billion VND. More than 100,000 students, teachers and more than 500,000 people in 50 provinces and cities of Vietnam have benefited from projects sponsored by the Fund in the fields of education, health and people's livelihood.

Ms. Nguyen Xuan Tu, Executive Director of Hope Fund, shared that these awards are recognition and encouragement for the fund to persevere in its mission of supporting disadvantaged, remote and isolated areas.

The Hope Fund has three long-term programs throughout the year, including School Light (educational support), Helping Children Go to School (transportation support), and Hope Sun (supporting sick children and disadvantaged children). In addition, the fund also has annual programs such as Tet Hy Vong (giving gifts to the poor and orphans), or emergency relief programs such as Chung Tay Vi Mien Trung (helping people affected by floods) and Tiep Suc Cho Tam Diem (support during the Covid-19 pandemic).

The Global CSR & ESG Awards is one of the world's largest sustainability awards, organized by Pinnacle Group International based in Singapore. The awards honor organizations and companies with innovative sustainable development (ESG) strategies, products, services, projects and CSR (corporate social responsibility) programs. Each year, the organizing committee receives about 350-370 nominations and awards about 50-70 awards in 10 categories.
