During the 2021-2030 period, Vinh International Airport is planned to be a level 4E airport, with a capacity of about 8 million passengers/year and 25,000 tons of cargo/year.
The Minister of Transport has just signed a decision approving the planning of Vinh - Nghe An International Airport for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
Accordingly, in the period 2021-2030, Vinh International Airport will be a level 4E airport with a capacity of about 8 million passengers/year and 25,000 tons of cargo/year. The airport will operate A320/A321 aircraft and equivalent, Boeing B747/B777/B787/A350 aircraft and equivalent.
Vision to 2050, Vinh International Airport is a level 4E airport, with a capacity of about 14 million passengers/year and 35,000 tons of cargo/year; operating aircraft types: A320/A321 and equivalent, code E aircraft such as B747/B777/B787/A350 and equivalent.
For the runway system, in the period 2021-2030, the plan is to extend the existing runway towards the end of 17 to a size of 3,000m x 45m; material curb size according to regulations.
By 2050, this airport will plan a second runway measuring 3,000m x 45m.
For aircraft parking, in the period 2021-2030, expand the existing parking lot to accommodate about 15 positions; the T2 passenger terminal area to accommodate about 10 positions. By 2050, continue to expand the aircraft parking lot in the T2 passenger terminal area to accommodate about 29 positions.
Regarding the passenger terminal, in the period 2021-2030, the existing T1 passenger terminal will be expanded to a capacity of about 5 million passengers/year. By 2050, the T2 passenger terminal will continue to be expanded to a capacity of about 9 million passengers/year, bringing the total capacity of the entire port to about 14 million passengers/year.
