On April 8, Vietnam Airlines operated special flights to bring more than 100 officers and 8 service dogs from the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security back to Vietnam after completing a search and rescue mission in Myanmar, which suffered severe consequences from the earthquake on March 28.
Flight VN9712 operated by Boeing 787 aircraft departed from Yangon International Airport at 18:15 and landed at Noi Bai International Airport at 20:15 the same day.
The flight brought more than 100 members of the Vietnamese relief force back home, concluding a meaningful humanitarian mission.
Earlier, at 2:00 p.m. the same day, Vietnam Airlines flight VN9711 transported nearly 30 tons of relief goods from Hanoi to Yangon. This shipment included dry food, personal tents, and other necessary relief supplies from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Public Security to support the people of Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
Sharing about this special journey, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines said: "As the National Airline, we are always ready to stand with the country in all circumstances. Supporting Myanmar this time is not only a mission, but also a commitment of Vietnam Airlines in spreading the spirit of humanity, connecting and sharing with international friends."
Vietnam Airlines affirms its role through many major campaigns of the Government.
During its 30-year journey of establishment and development (1995-2025), Vietnam Airlines has repeatedly undertaken special missions in international emergency situations. The airline has conducted flights to evacuate Vietnamese people from Ukraine in 2022, transported workers from Libya in 2011 and 2014, and supported Vietnamese citizens in Japan during the earthquake and tsunami in 2011. Each special flight is a clear demonstration of Vietnam Airlines' organizational capacity, sense of responsibility, and unceasing commitment to serving the Fatherland and its people, both in normal times and in special situations that require extraordinary efforts.
