Quang Nam attracts domestic tourists during Independence Day

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it is estimated that there will be about 193,000 visitors and stayers in Quang Nam during the National Day holiday in 2024 (an increase of about 16% compared to the same period in 2023). The average room occupancy rate decreased slightly compared to last year, reaching 55-60% (last year it reached 60-65%).

However, the high-end segment still recorded an impressive number of bookings with room occupancy rates of around 80-90%. Some places filled their rooms to capacity, such as the accommodation system at Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-Tourism Area on September 2 and fluctuated around 95% on September 3.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of international visitors decreased because the number of international visitors to the locality increased before the National Day holiday, then during the holidays, a large number of these visitors moved to other locations across the country. In return, the number of domestic visitors to Quang Nam during the National Day holiday was very large, especially in Hoi An.

Not only Hoi An recorded a strong growth in domestic visitors during the National Day holiday, Vinwonders Nam Hoi An (Thang Binh district) welcomed an average of 6,000 visitors per day (an increase of 40% compared to normal days); Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-tourism Area (Dong Giang district) welcomed about 8,000 - 10,000 visitors and guests...

Even though My Son Relic Site (Duy Xuyen District) has long been a popular destination for international visitors (regularly accounting for more than 95% of total visitors), during the two main holidays of September 2nd, it welcomed nearly 1,000 Vietnamese tourists (accounting for about 20% of total visitors on this occasion).

A notable highlight of Quang Nam tourism during this year's National Day holiday is that many accommodation establishments and entertainment destinations have decorated the national flag on their balconies and areas with a large number of tourists "checking in" or setting up separate spaces with the theme of National Day to celebrate the nation's Independence Day, while also spreading more inspiration to tourists' trips.

After a period of stagnation in the domestic tourist market, this is a positive signal for local tourism, especially in the context that the tourism industry will face the risk of a decline in both international and domestic tourists as the rainy season approaches.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the coming time, Quang Nam will launch a tourism stimulus program "Quang golden season" with many unique products to improve the situation of declining visitors during the low season, especially for the domestic tourist market.
