Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee inspects and urges project progress

The Tam Tien Bridge and access road project in Nui Thanh district was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment and construction on May 30, 2019 with a total investment of 220 billion VND.

The total length of the project is more than 4km, of which the Tam Tien bridge consists of 9 spans and the remaining is the approach road. Construction started in December 2020, but has now stopped due to site clearance problems.

The leader of Nui Thanh district said: The project has completed compensation and support for 363 plots of land, while 50 plots have not been implemented. Currently, the remaining demand for land for the project is about ^150,000m3 , however, the district is in short supply of land, unable to meet the project's needs.

The district will try to complete the compensation and site clearance for the entire project in the second quarter of this year. Due to practical conditions, the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Transport consider and adjust the project implementation period from 2018-2024 to 2018-2025.

Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung requested the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district to be more decisive in compensation and site clearance. The project has dragged on for many years, affecting people's lives and risking waste.

Relevant departments and branches urgently complete documents and procedures for the Provincial People's Committee to approve the project extension, ensuring its completion and putting it into service for the people on both banks of Tam Tien and Tam Xuan 1 communes, Nui Thanh district.

On the same morning, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung inspected the construction progress of the Tam Giang Bridge project in Nui Thanh district. This project has been going on for 8 years and is still not completed.

The Tam Giang Bridge project has a total investment of nearly 151.5 billion VND, a length of more than 210m and a 469.5m long approach road at both ends of the bridge. The project started in April 2017, but due to land clearance compensation, it was interrupted for a long time.

By November 9, 2024, the remaining households had agreed to demolish their houses and structures and hand over the clean site to the contractor. However, during the inspection yesterday morning, there was only one excavator operating at the construction site.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung requested Nui Thanh district to urgently work with the construction contractor, the Railway Corporation, requesting the mobilization of machinery and equipment to speed up the construction of the remaining items, striving to technically open the Tam Giang bridge to traffic this April.
