Promoting Italian culture through the 2024 Italian Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

The Italian Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City is organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Asian Film Festival in Rome and its partners Galaxy Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University), VIEWSONIC and Tran Gia Brand Development Joint Stock Company from September 29 to October 4, 2024.

The 2024 Italian Film Festival will present and screen for free 6 of the latest and most famous films by Italian filmmakers, from dramas to comedies such as: I am the Captain | Io Capitano (T16); Cold Rolling Mill | Palazzina Laf (T13); Zamora (T13); Summer with Irène | Quell'estate con Irène (T18); Kidnapping | Rapito (T16); The Unrealized Dream | La Chimera (T16).

The selected films, which have won numerous prestigious awards in Europe and around the world, represent the quintessential colors of Italy. Through scenes ranging from reality to dreams, from humor to despair, they offer an insight into the multifaceted modern Italian society, touching on political, economic and social themes such as migration and working conditions.

At 9:00 a.m. on October 2, at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City will coordinate with the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a workshop on the topic "Filmmaking trends of contemporary Italian cinema" with the participation of Artistic Director Antonio Termenini, along with other guests.

In addition, within the framework of the 2024 Italian Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, the Organizing Committee also launched the Italian Film Review Competition screened at the 2024 Italian Film Festival for all audiences to have objective perspectives and assessments of the films screened at this year's Film Festival with extremely attractive prizes.
