On the morning of February 22, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Dak Lak Literature and Arts Association in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Book Street Company Limited organized a program to introduce literary and artistic works of Dak Lak artists, with the theme "The Plateau Calls Wind and Fire" to contribute to promoting the events of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 of Dak Lak province.
Attending the program were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thi Chien Hoa; representatives of leaders of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports of Dak Lak, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, Association of Photographic Artists of Ho Chi Minh City, Association of Ethnic Minorities of Ho Chi Minh City; along with many artists, musicians, businesses...
The program is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day, Dak Lak Province Liberation (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025) and towards the 50th Anniversary of the Complete Liberation of the South, National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
With the theme “The Plateau Calls Wind and Fire”, the Dak Lak Literature and Arts Association introduces to the public of the City and the whole country the musical works, musical instruments and performances of Dak Lak artists in many fields such as folk arts, Literature, Photography, Painting, theater and cinema… through which, the message sent to the public of Ho Chi Minh City about the love of Dak Lak artists when researching folk arts, composing, promoting literary and artistic works is always closely associated with the culture of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, the love of the homeland, the country, the land.
At the exhibition, 50 artistic photos with the theme of coffee, coffee culture and the annual Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival by photographers who are members of the Dak Lak Literature and Arts Association; 10 sketches by artist Ma Vu Luong with the theme of natural landscapes and historical sites of Dak Lak province will be displayed.
At the same time, there will be an exhibition of Central Highlands folk musical instruments, brocades of some ethnic groups and traditional coffee roasting and grinding tools, an introduction to traditional pottery of the M'Nong Rlam ethnic group and community cultural tourism in Lak district. On this occasion, visitors can participate in the performance of gongs and Central Highlands folk musical instruments.
Ms. Nie Thanh Mai - President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association said: Through the program, the event introduces to the public outstanding works in the fields of music, musical instruments, performance, literature, photography, painting, theater and cinema of Dak Lak artists.
This is an opportunity for the public to better understand the love and attachment of Dak Lak artists to the culture of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, along with stories of composing, researching and promoting literary and artistic works that are always closely associated with the land, people and traditions of this land.
The program is also an invitation for artists and people of Dak Lak to come to the province to participate and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, taking place from March 9-13, 2025.
