At around 8 p.m., the couple Nguyen Hoang (40 years old) and Nguyen Thi Tuyet "worked at full capacity" to serve diners who came to enjoy tofu pudding, jelly, white jelly, etc.

Tofu pudding is the best-selling dish, and there are rarely any leftovers. On weekends, they even have to cook more while selling.

According to Mr. Hoang, the restaurant has been open for more than 5 years. The space is very small and narrow, just enough to put a counter. However, the number of customers every night is very crowded. Dozens of people line up to order, pay and sit tightly on plastic chairs placed on the sidewalk.

Ms. Tuyet honestly said that making tofu is not a family tradition. A few years ago, she learned how to make it online, then she and her husband opened a business at home.

The shop opens from 5:30 pm to about 10 pm every day but is busiest around 8 pm.

The restaurant's menu includes tofu pudding, jelly, black pearl tofu, caramel, white jelly dessert,... Prices range from 10,000 - 30,000 VND.

"We don't have much experience or any special recipes. The important thing is that all the ingredients and dishes at my restaurant are homemade and made on the same day to be the freshest. In the morning I make caramel and jelly, and in the afternoon I cook tofu and tapioca pearls," said Ms. Tuyet.

Each bowl of tofu when served is piping hot, with a sweet syrup and a jasmine scent, reminiscent of the traditional tofu flavor. The ivory-white, plump pieces of tofu are soft, smooth, fragrant, and melt in your mouth.

Diners who like to eat cold tofu can order ice.

In addition to tofu pudding, the restaurant also serves traditional style of black jelly and black jelly. The dark green jelly is cut into thin slices.

Lan Anh (24 years old, Hanoi) is a regular customer of the restaurant. The female customer likes the traditional flavor of tofu pudding, with a faint scent of jasmine.

"The tofu is smooth and soft, the tapioca pearls are chewy and crispy, a harmonious combination. I'm not too impressed with the jelly and pandan jelly, but they're easy to eat," Lan Anh commented.

Mr. Thai's family (Hoan Kiem) was introduced to the restaurant by an acquaintance so they went to enjoy it. "The tofu pudding was still warm, with a sweet taste, reminding me of the taste of tofu pudding in the past, quite simple but delicious and easy to eat," Mr. Thai shared.
