On March 29, the Francophone Alliance in Singapore, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​the French Embassy and the Embassies of several member countries of the Francophone Community in Singapore, organized the Francophone Food Festival 2025 to enhance exchange and connection among members, while introducing and promoting the traditional culinary culture of each country.

Participating in this year's Francophone Culinary Festival, the Trade Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in collaboration with Chef Quoc Vo Vietnamese Restaurant and Ganh Xua Restaurant introduced to diners some dishes with strong Vietnamese identity such as bun cha, banh mi, nem ran, pho tron, cha gio...

In addition to the traditional dishes served directly at the festival, the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore introduced many Vietnamese food products associated with the above dishes such as dried vermicelli, rice paper, fish sauce, wood ear mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, spices for making spring rolls, spring rolls, spices for making spring roll dipping sauce, vermicelli and grilled pork dipping sauce...

Delighted to see a large number of diners coming to explore traditional Vietnamese dishes at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh said that in the process of international integration, promoting the cultural beauty of Vietnam to the world is very important, of which cuisine is an indispensable part.

Events like this will help international friends know and understand more deeply about the beauty of Vietnamese culinary culture through the dishes and products on display.

The Ambassador emphasized that fish sauce is a very unique product, the essence and soul of the raw materials used to create dishes and dipping sauces that are very unique to Vietnam.

Many similar products are also introduced to international friends such as ready-made sauces to prepare dishes such as sour soup, braised fish, pho, Hue beef noodle soup, etc.

Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh affirmed: "Through such products, the cultural exchange, especially culinary culture, between Vietnam and the world is increasingly closer and deeper, in line with the context of the Vietnam-Singapore relationship being elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership."

According to Mr. Cao Xuan Thang, Commercial Counselor, Head of the Trade Office in Singapore, the Francophone Food Festival is one of the annual events in which the Trade Office integrates economic diplomacy and cultural diplomacy, promoting trade of Vietnamese goods in the Singapore market.

Inviting Vietnamese businesses to participate and promote Vietnamese traditional food products at the event is both a demonstration of “real people doing real work,” and contributes to the successful implementation of the project “Mobilizing Vietnamese people abroad to participate, introduce, consume products and develop distribution channels for Vietnamese goods abroad,” thereby further enhancing the presence of Vietnamese goods abroad through trade connections with key contacts in Singapore and international partners.

Enjoying the bread in his hand, foreign diner David Harison shared: “I only came to Singapore to visit friends for a few days, but when I came here, I was really happy. I got to experience the food and meet many people. I really like Vietnamese food.

I also spent a long time in Ho Chi Minh City, so I love Vietnamese cuisine. I had this sandwich for lunch today. I love the Vietnamese people, they are very friendly.”

Vietnamese businesses participating in the festival said that in addition to promoting Vietnamese cuisine, they also want to approach partners to introduce products and export processed foods to markets in the Francophone community./.
