Hoa Dien is a commune with a large Khmer population, accounting for more than 11.3% of the commune's population. Determining that caring for the Khmer people is an important task, in recent times, departments, branches, unions, and the commune's Party Committee and government have done a good job of propagating and mobilizing the Khmer people to escape poverty.

In addition, the commune promptly and effectively implements the State's policies to improve the lives of Khmer people such as supporting housing, land, production support for poor and near-poor households... Infrastructure in the commune has been invested and upgraded, especially the rural transport system, irrigation system, schools, creating favorable conditions and promoting economic development. Political security, order and social safety in the commune are ensured.

Comrade Le Trung Nhan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Dien commune said that in recent times, Hoa Dien commune has mobilized all resources to support Khmer people. The commune Party Committee assigned Party cells to manage and closely monitor poor and near-poor households to provide timely support. Along with that, it has created livelihood models, created conditions for people to borrow capital for production; mobilized support with gifts and charity houses for households in difficult circumstances...

In 2022, Hoa Dien commune mobilized the construction of 15 solidarity houses and charity houses for poor and near-poor households. 150 Khmer households received loans to escape poverty sustainably.

Comrade Le Trung Nhan (right cover) - Vice Chairman of Hoa Dien Commune People's Committee (Kien Luong) visited and encouraged Ms. Thi Van's family, residing in Nui Trau Hamlet, who was considered by the commune to support the construction of a great solidarity house in 2022.

Thanks to the policies and support of the State and the efforts to improve, the lives of many Khmer people in Hoa Dien commune have changed significantly. Mr. Duong Minh Na, residing in Nui Trau hamlet, Hoa Dien commune, started his business from 20 hectares of rice fields. Previously, rice farming was difficult, productivity was low, and his family's life was always in need. With the attention and support of the commune government, in 2022, Mr. Na was able to borrow 50 million VND to invest in beef cattle farming. Thanks to his diligent care, the herd of cattle has developed and grown well.

Up to now, his family has 4 cows. Each year, the mother cow gives birth to 2 calves, which Mr. Na sells for 10 million VND/cow. He grows rice 2 times a year. From growing rice and raising cows, his family has a profit of more than 200 million VND per year, and the family economy is stable.

Mr. Na shared: “Since I was considered for a loan, I always try to do business. Working and saving at the same time, my family now has a better income. I am always grateful to the State and local authorities for supporting my family.”

The family of Ms. Thi Van, residing in Nui Trau hamlet, is one of the households that the local authorities have considered to build a solidarity house in 2022. The new, solid house was built to replace the previous leaky house. Excited by this timely support, Ms. Thi Van said: “Despite working hard and saving for many years, my family still could not build a solid house to live in. When the State supported the house building, my family was extremely happy. Now, we no longer have to suffer from leaky houses and slanted pillars like before, so we can work and produce with peace of mind.”

It can be seen that the practical activities of the Party committees and authorities of Hoa Dien commune to take care of the Khmer people have contributed to the effective implementation of social security policies at all levels and sectors, helping households in difficult circumstances, especially the Khmer people, to improve their lives.
