Kien Giang Border Guards help people with more than 18,000 working days and production

Colonel Doan Dinh Tranh - Deputy Political Commissar of Kien Giang Border Guard Command awarded certificates of merit from Vinh Phu Commune People's Committee to individuals with achievements in participating in protecting national sovereignty and border security in the new situation.

From February 24 to March 3, 55 border, sea and island communes and wards in Kien Giang province coordinated with border posts under the Kien Giang Border Guard to simultaneously organize a national border festival and summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 01/CT-TTg, dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister on organizing a movement for all people to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation in the period of 2015-2025.

This is an activity to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2025), the 36th anniversary of the National Border Guard Festival (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2025).

As part of the celebration of the National Border Guard Day, border stations organize cultural, sports, folk games, and art programs... creating a joyful atmosphere in border, sea, and island areas.

Border guards coordinate with local authorities and units to organize visits, medical examinations, provide free medicine, and give gifts to the poor, policy families, and children in difficult circumstances; organize environmental activities, propagate and disseminate laws, mobilize the entire population to participate in protecting border sovereignty, maintaining security in hamlets and villages...

During the 10 years of implementing Directive No. 01/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, every year, the Kien Giang Border Guard has coordinated with border, sea and island localities to build a solid people's border defense and become a good tradition in the localities. Up to now, the land border of Kien Giang province has more than 200 households registered to self-manage national border markers, with nearly 50km of border. Border posts have coordinated to establish 27 security and order teams in the sea and island border areas and 66 teams of boats and safe harbors.

Over the past 10 years, Kien Giang Border Guard has helped people work and produce more than 18,000 working days, built and repaired more than 1,000 houses for people; supported 27 policy families, lonely elderly people, orphans with a support fund of 1 million VND/person/month. Maintained the charity rice jar to support 32 families in difficult circumstances with 10kg of rice every month...

Officers and soldiers of the Ha Tien International Border Gate Border Guard Station coordinate with other forces to clean rural roads.

Kien Giang Border Guards coordinated with other forces and authorities to establish and successfully combat dozens of special projects. Investigated and prosecuted many cases, arrested and handled thousands of cases, more than 5,000 subjects, fined and paid tens of billions of VND to the state budget. Kien Giang Border Guards maintained and coordinated with Cambodian border guards to patrol, control, and strictly implement agreements, treaties, border regulations, etc.
