Currently, 100% of state administrative agencies and units from the province to the grassroots level are equipped with an internal network (LAN) system and connected to a broadband fiber optic internet network to send and receive electronic documents with digital signatures; provide integrated electronic one-stop public administrative services, and use the province's online video conferencing system.
In addition to investing in information infrastructure and deploying applications for management and operation of work in the network environment, the province focuses on synchronous investment in technology, equipping security systems to ensure safety and network security in the operations of state agencies, ensuring operating conditions for applications and databases of the province.

To ensure information security for shared information systems, Kien Giang province directed relevant departments and branches to deploy many solutions to ensure data security, connection, technical integration, operation, and security for applications and databases of the province and branches with modern, safe, secure equipment and software systems.
The province has deployed the construction of a provincial Center for Cyber Security and Safety Monitoring and Information Management connected to the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center to monitor, supervise and ensure information security of the province's key information systems on a 4-layer model according to the direction of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Kien Giang province Nguyen Xuan Kiem, thanks to the parallel implementation of ensuring network safety and security associated with digital transformation activities, strengthening monitoring activities, early and accurate warning of risks of information insecurity, enhancing the ability to support rescue, participating in incident resolution, there have been no network safety and security incidents in the province.
The information system of state agencies in the province meets the requirements for ensuring information system security at all levels. In the process of monitoring and supervising the work of ensuring information security of the provincial data center, every year, more than 1,000 targeted, high-risk attacks on the system are detected and promptly prevented, with 11,875,063 scans and attacks on the system being prevented. Of these, 5,021,446 were fake attacks, 27,564 were attacks using malware; 6,826,053 were combined attacks using a combination of many forms.
The information security situation of workstations has detected and prevented 17,850 computers connected to the information security incident detection and response application on terminals (EDR); 16,660 computers connected to the anti-malware application (antivirus); 1,409 computers detected with viruses.
The deployment of the Provincial Center for Cyber Security and Safety Monitoring and Information Management brings many benefits. Specifically, it helps people to promptly report urban problems through applications on mobile devices; the urban government receives and resolves problems quickly, accurately and effectively; collects and compiles socio-economic data of the province, supporting the direction and management of socio-economic development of the province.
Data sources are integrated and shared with the finance, planning - investment, tax, customs, statistics, operating and monitoring systems, operating 24/7 to proactively prevent and combat risks of information security loss and proactively defend and respond to cyber attacks.
In order to ensure network safety and security in the operations of state agencies, Kien Giang province continues to promote the implementation of Decision No. 964/QD-TTg dated August 10, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the national network safety and security strategy, proactively responding to challenges from cyberspace until 2025, with a vision to 2030. Review, inspect, evaluate, appraise and organize the implementation of regulations on ensuring safety and security at all levels.
The province is interested in improving the capacity to monitor network safety and security in the province; deploying plans to ensure continuous operation of agencies and organizations, and being ready to restore normal system operations after network security incidents. In particular, equipping all internet users with information security skills; popularizing skills training activities for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
