In 2025, Giong Rieng district will still have 330 temporary and dilapidated houses, including 29 poor households, 145 near-poor households, and 156 households with difficult housing conditions. The Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Giong Rieng district directed the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district to coordinate with relevant agencies to conduct a survey of the current status of the subjects and houses and dialogue with households receiving housing support about the construction and completion time, funding support, etc.
To date, Giong Rieng district has built and completed 29 houses for poor households. The district has held dialogues with 145 near-poor households on issues such as mobilizing relatives to contribute more, time to build houses, construction contracts, etc. The district is determined to complete and hand over 145 houses to near-poor households by May 2025.
For 156 households with difficult housing circumstances, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Giong Rieng District continues to mobilize provincial functional agencies, companies, businesses, religious organizations, philanthropists, and mobilize funds for the poor to have resources to match sponsors or support people in building foundations to ensure quality houses. The district strives to complete and hand over houses to households with difficult circumstances for use by the end of September 2025.
Giong Rieng district proposed the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Kien Giang Province and the Fund Mobilization Committee for the Poor of Kien Giang Province to provide timely funding to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for households within the time limit.

The district continues to carry out propaganda work well so that people understand the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and agree and respond to the implementation; promptly report to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province on difficulties in the implementation process to resolve them in order to help people soon have solid houses. The police and military forces in the district actively participate in contributing working days to help people eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses...
In 2024, Giong Rieng district will build 455 new houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties, with a budget of over 22 billion VND. The district has communes of Thanh Phuoc, Hoa Loi, Hoa Thuan, Ngoc Thuan, Ban Tan Dinh and Giong Rieng town with no more temporary or dilapidated houses.
