On August 26, Mr. Vu Van Dien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Ha Long City and a number of citizens directly related to the settlement of complaints and difficulties in the settlement of complaints in the city.

Comrade Vu Van Dien, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, representatives of relevant agencies informed about the case of Mr. Nguyen Duc Yen, residing in Gieng Day Ward, Ha Long City, who complained and requested compensation for his family for 27.2 square meters of land when implementing the project to renovate and improve National Highway 18 from Hoang Quoc Viet intersection to Bai Chay bridge. According to the People's Committee of Ha Long City, the reason the city did not compensate Mr. Nguyen Duc Yen for the 27.2 square meters of residential land was because it considered this area to be traffic land managed by the State.

After conducting the review, in the spirit of frank discussion, clarifying the steps to resolve complaints and denunciations in accordance with the correct procedures, regulations, and relevant legal basis... the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: this is a long-standing complaint case, directly related to the interests of the people. Through the dialogue process, it was shown that the work of verifying the origin of the land, the settlement methods of each agency and unit were not synchronous, coordination was not good, and there was a lack of initiative in self-review and adjustment according to the collected information.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Yen, residing in Gieng Day ward, Ha Long city, presented the complaint content.

He requested Ha Long City to carefully study the documents and continue to review related documents to resolve the case before November 30. During the implementation process, it is necessary to review all options and affected subjects when implementing the project. At the same time, it is necessary to rectify and learn from the experience of the advisory agencies and support agencies of the Provincial People's Committee in resolving people's complaints, especially the slow detection of bottlenecks in resolution.

Representative of Ha Long City leaders reported on the work of handling complaints in the city.

Regarding other long-standing complaints of Ha Long City, he requested the leaders of the City People's Committee to strictly implement Regulation No. 11-QDi/TW dated February 18, 2019 of the Politburo on the responsibility of leaders in receiving people, dialogue, handling, resolving reflections, recommendations, complaints, denunciations ... and the provisions of the Law on Complaints for cases that are still stuck, have not been resolved, and cases that are slow to be implemented according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. On that basis, consolidate complete records, promptly resolve cases, ensure fairness, and protect the legitimate rights of households.
