The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected the film “Peach, Pho and Piano” produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company 1 to represent Vietnam in the Preliminary Round of the International Feature Film Awards.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected the film “Peach, Pho and Piano” Produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company 1, representing Vietnam to participate in the Preliminary Round of the International Feature Film Awards - Oscar (2024 - 2025).
Previously, the Department of Cinema received an invitation from the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - AMPAS to send a feature film representing Vietnam to participate in the 97th Academy Awards Preliminary Round for the "International Feature Film" category in 2024 in Los Angeles, USA.
The Department of Cinema has widely announced on the Department's website (cucdienanh.vn) about submitting films to register for the selection of Vietnamese films to participate in the Oscar Preliminary Round from August 9, 2024 and received 4 registered films including: "Dao, Pho and Piano" , "The Price of Happiness" , "Flip Side 7: One Wish" and "Mai."
On September 23, 2024, the National Council for Film Selection for the Preliminary Round of the International Feature Film Awards - Oscar (2024 - 2025) worked and discussed, selecting the film: "Dao, Pho and Piano" (produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company 1), representing Vietnam to participate in the Preliminary Round of the International Feature Film Awards - Oscar (2024 - 2025).
Movie “Peach, Pho and Piano” is a work by screenwriter and director Phi Tien Son, with an investment of 20 billion VND, ordered by the Department of Cinema (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to be produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company 1. The film is inspired by the 60-day and night battle in late 1946 and early 1947 of the Hanoi army and people "Determination to die for the Fatherland to live."
The film tells the story of the passionate, romantic love between the self-defense soldier Van Dan (played by Doan Quoc Dam) and the young lady of Hanoi Thuc Huong (played by Cao Thuy Linh). They overcame difficulties and dangers to find each other again on the last day of the war (February 17, 1947), when our army withdrew to the war zone and entered a long-term resistance war.
The film features familiar faces such as: People's Artist Trung Hieu, director - Meritorious Artist Tran Luc, actor Anh Tuan, singer Tuan Hung... The film won the Silver Lotus Award at the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival held in Lam Dong in November 2023./.
