In recent years, Ba Ria-Vung Tau has accelerated the implementation of many inter-regional transport projects. These are not only urgent projects, but also have long-term strategic significance, creating new development space. Thereby, maximizing the potential and advantages of the province.
Notable projects include Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway, Phuoc An Bridge, Road 991B and Vung Tau-Binh Thuan coastal road (DT994). Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway Project (Component 3) has completed more than 80% of the work volume and is expected to open to technical traffic in April 2025. Phuoc An Bridge has achieved more than 60% of the progress and will be completed 6 months ahead of schedule. Road 991B from National Highway 51 to Cai Mep-Thi Vai Port has also completed more than 90% of the main items.
In addition to the projects being implemented, the province's road traffic system has made significant progress. Up to now, the total length of the province's traffic network has reached 5,208 km, of which more than 3,500 km have been paved. National and provincial highways are widely connected, not only promoting the development of industrial parks but also contributing to the development of tourism and urban areas. A typical example is the Cai Mep-Thi Vai inter-port road project, connecting industrial parks with seaports, along with important routes such as the road to Long Son Petrochemical Complex and Phuoc Hoa-Cai Mep road, forming a closely connected traffic system between industrial parks and seaports.
According to the planning of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the province will focus on completing key traffic routes, building a network closely connected to the Southeast provinces and key economic regions. When the traffic system is completed, the province will become a strategic connection center between industrial parks and international seaports, strongly attracting investment in industry, processing, manufacturing and logistics.
Some projects are calling for investment

The Ring Road 4 project will connect provinces in the Southern Economic Region and the Mekong Delta region, promote the circulation of goods and develop port services, playing an important role in connecting with Hiep Phuoc and Long An ports. The Bien Hoa-Vung Tau railway project will help connect provinces in the region and facilitate the development of the Cai Mep Ha logistics center. These are key projects that not only promote transportation but also have a positive impact on the development of industry, services and tourism.
In addition, upgrading Con Dao airport to a national-level civil port will also open up new opportunities for connecting air traffic, serving the needs of transporting passengers and goods, and promoting the development of tourism in Con Dao.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that in 2025, the province will continue to invest heavily in transport infrastructure, creating a solid foundation for sustainable development. This is part of the province's long-term strategy to complete a modern transport system, strongly connecting with provinces in the Southeast region and countries in the region, serving the needs of economic and social development and improving the quality of life of the people.
