Congratulations if you have the habit of going to bed early and getting up early!

The study, conducted by scientists at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School (USA), included 63,676 participants aged 45 to 62. They had no history of cancer, cardiovascular disease or diabetes at the start of the study.

During the 8-year follow-up period, participants self-reported health factors, including diet, weight and body mass index, sleep duration, smoking status, alcohol consumption, physical activity, and family history of diabetes.

Finally, there were 1,925 cases of diabetes.

Overall, night owls had 54% more unhealthy lifestyles than early risers, said the study's lead author, Dr Sina Kianersi.

People who stay up late and wake up late are more likely to get diabetes.

The results showed that, after taking into account factors such as weight, physical activity and diet, the risk of diabetes in people who regularly went to bed after 12 a.m. was 19% higher than those who went to bed earlier, according to Everyday Health.

The researchers concluded that people who stay up late have a higher risk of developing diabetes. Although other lifestyle habits also affected the results, they were not enough to change the final results.

So, from now on, try to sleep a little earlier. At the same time, pay attention to reducing the amount of carbs consumed, stop smoking, and ensure adequate physical activity to stay away from this chronic disease!
