On the morning of February 25, the People's Committee of Son La province launched a campaign to support the To Hieu Scholarship Fund of Son La province in 2025. Attending the ceremony were comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, comrade Nguyen Thai Hung, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, along with comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of provincial departments, branches, and sectors, and standing committees of districts, towns, and cities.
To Hieu Scholarship Fund was established on January 10, 2019 under Decision No. 82/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Son La province. The Scholarship Fund named after revolutionary and martyr To Hieu has profound humanistic meaning. After 6 years of operation, the total fund currently has more than 16 billion VND. The management method is: The fund is deposited in savings, and the annual interest rate is used to award prizes for encouraging learning and talent. With that method, over the past 6 years, the Fund Management Board has awarded 5,199 scholarships, with a total amount of more than 3.9 billion VND. Every year, on the birthday and death anniversary of revolutionary and martyr To Hieu, the Son La Provincial Association for Promoting Education awards scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and are studious at schools in the province.
Immediately after the launch, delegates responded to donate and registered to support the Fund with a total amount of over 270 million VND.
The Provincial People's Committee respectfully calls for the generosity of agencies, units and individuals to support the Fund. All mobilized resources will be used in accordance with the Fund's principles and purposes as well as comply with current financial disclosure principles. The sponsorship of individuals, organizations and businesses is recognized and commended, publicly announced on the mass media system, and awarded the Golden Board of Encouragement of Learning.
