Launching response to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day 2025

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga emphasized the importance of providing full and accurate information about the origin and quality of products to consumers.

According to the report of the Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association, in 2024, with the theme "Transparent Information - Safe Consumption", the Department of Industry and Trade of Ben Tre province coordinated with the Association to implement many practical activities to raise awareness of people and businesses about consumer rights. In particular, propaganda work was carried out regularly and continuously with a series of banners and slogans hung in markets and main roads to emphasize the importance of Consumer Rights Day.

In addition, more than 2,000 handbooks on consumer protection laws have been published, providing important knowledge to help people better understand their rights and responsibilities. Notably, the province has also established a consumer consultation and support system through the hotline 1800.6838, helping people easily access information and protect their rights.

Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the Provincial Consumer Rights Protection Association said that it will continue to promote consumer rights protection, focusing on raising public awareness, by hanging banners and organizing extensive propaganda activities to help consumers better understand their rights and responsibilities.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga emphasized the importance of providing consumers with complete and accurate information about the origin and quality of products. Accordingly, choosing products based on transparent information not only helps consumers protect their rights but also motivates businesses to improve product quality, build sustainable brands and minimize negative impacts on the environment.

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga called on businesses to ensure transparency in product information to build trust with customers, while authorities need to strengthen market supervision and control and strictly handle violations of consumer rights. Social organizations also need to clearly promote their role as representatives and bridges between consumers and state agencies and the business community.
