On the Telegram messaging app, Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak stated: "We are working in Washington... We are grateful to our partners for their support."

According to the announcement, senior officials of the Ukrainian General Staff were also present in the delegation.

In another development, in an interview with the German weekly Die Welt published on August 31, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg emphasized that Ukraine had every right to launch a surprise attack on Russia's Kursk border province as an act of self-defense.

"Ukraine has the right to self-defense. And under international law, this right does not stop at the border. Russian soldiers, tanks and bases there (Kursk) are legitimate targets under international law," Mr. Stoltenberg argued.

In addition, the NATO Secretary General also admitted that the attack also took Kiev's allies by surprise. He affirmed that Ukraine did not discuss the attack plan with NATO in advance and that the military alliance played no role in the operation in Kursk.

In addition, Mr. Stoltenberg also welcomed Germany's commitment to continue being the leading military aid country to Ukraine, ranking first in Europe, and second in the world, after the US, in the context of Berlin preparing to cut aid to Kiev in the next fiscal year.
