From November 24 to 28, within the framework of a visit to units of the United Nations Interim Security Mission in Abyei (UNISFA), Mr. Vadim Potanin, Chief Representative of the Senior Officer of the Department of Support for Peacekeeping Operations at the United Nations, visited and worked with the Vietnam Engineering Team No. 3. He expressed his good impressions.
Also at the visit were representatives of the authorities of the United Nations Interim Security Mission in Abyei (UNISFA).

Here, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hao, captain of Engineering Team No. 3, commander of the Vietnamese force participating in the United Nations peacekeeping operations at the UNISFA mission, introduced the unit's functions and tasks, achievements, ongoing work and future directions.
Specifically, since its deployment to the area, the Vietnam Engineering Team No. 3 has comprehensively carried out all aspects of work, notably the task of repairing and upgrading vital routes to ensure the mission's supply and people's movement, and constructing SmartCamp according to the mission's plan. Humanitarian support activities for local people have been highly appreciated by the mission.
A high-ranking delegation from the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations Support Department and the UNISFA Mission Support Office visited and worked with Vietnam Engineering Team No. 3.
Through inspection and visit to the unit, Mr. Vadim Potanin highly appreciated the organizational and implementation capacity of the Vietnamese engineering force, impressed with the construction techniques of roads, field airports and SmartCamp, and good planning and arrangement of technical areas.
In addition to providing food for the United Nations, Vietnamese "blue beret" soldiers have done a good job of planning to increase vegetable production to improve and enhance living standards, renovate the landscape to be bright, green, clean, beautiful, and prevent and fight diseases.
Mr. Vadim Potanin also hopes that in the coming time, the Vietnam Engineering Team will proactively overcome difficulties to continue to perform well the tasks assigned by the United Nations and activities to help local communities stabilize and develop.
