On the afternoon of March 27, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held an executive meeting in Hanoi to address a number of issues of Vietnamese football in recent times.
The two most concerning issues are the fact that VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu submitted a resignation letter from his current positions on March 12 due to business concerns; and the fact that VFF Referee Board Deputy Vo Quang Vinh committed violations.
At the meeting, the VFF Standing Committee discussed and convinced Mr. Tran Anh Tu to stay. The VFF Executive Committee then voted and approved that Mr. Tran Anh Tu will continue his role as VFF Vice President.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Anh Tu said he would arrange his business and committed to staying to complete his duties until the end of the ninth term (2022-2026).
Regarding the case of Mr. Vo Quang Vinh, the executive board agreed to dismiss him from his position as deputy head of the VFF referee board and assign the professional board to find a replacement. At the same time, the executive board will refer Mr. Vo Quang Vinh's violation to the disciplinary board for consideration.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Vo Quang Vinh, deputy head of the VFF referee board, a physical trainer, was assigned to test the physical strength of three female FIFA referees, Le Thi Ly, Tran Thi Thanh, and Bui Thi Thu Trang, at the Hanoi Athletics Palace on February 5. The test content was running (6 times x 40m).
However, Mr. Vinh arbitrarily decided to allow these 3 referees to run only 4 times x 40m. Notably, in the report, Mr. Vinh wrote that these referees had run 6 times x 40m and scored as required.
After getting involved, the VFF Inspection Board concluded that Mr. Vo Quang Vinh's decision to arbitrarily change the regulations on referee examination content and give scores that did not match the examination results was dishonest and a serious violation in the management and training of referees by the VFF. This issue affected the reputation of the referee board and the VFF.
After the incident was discovered, Mr. Vinh was reprimanded by the referee board, temporarily suspended from his duties at the 2025 National U19 Women's Tournament, temporarily suspended from his duties as a physical trainer for the training course, supervising and refereeing the 2025 National Futsal Tournament, and temporarily suspended from his duties as a referee supervisor in round 9 of the First Division Tournament, which he had previously been assigned to.
In addition, Mr. Vo Quang Vinh was not assigned by the referee board to supervise referees from round 14 of the V-League 2024-2025, and was not assigned to the task of a physical trainer for the mid-season supervision and referee training class of the national professional football tournaments 2024-2025.
