Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has just undergone a notable change in senior personnel. According to the latest decision of the Board of Directors, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, previously General Director, was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank for the 2023-2028 term.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung was born in 1974 in Hanoi. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics from the Foreign Trade University and a master's degree in economics from Paris Dauphine University.
With 27 years of dedication to Vietcombank, Mr. Tung is highly regarded for his experience and management capacity. He has held many important positions at the bank, from functional departments to senior leadership positions. His deep understanding of Vietcombank's operations along with his strategic vision will be an important factor in helping Mr. Tung continue to lead the bank to strong growth in the future.
Along with the appointment of Mr. Tung, the Board of Directors also decided to adjust a number of other positions in the leadership. Mr. Le Quang Vinh, Deputy General Director, will take on the additional role of Deputy General Director in charge of the executive board. Mr. Do Viet Hung, previously a member in charge of the Board of Directors, will continue to be a member of the Board of Directors but will no longer take on the role in charge.
Mr. Le Quang Vinh was born in 1976, has a Bachelor of Economics from the National Economics University and a Master of Finance from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Mr. Vinh was first appointed as Deputy General Director in 2017, then reappointed in 2022.
Mr. Do Viet Hung, born in 1970, holds a Master of Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) in association with Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania (USA). He joined Vietcombank in 1992 and has worked in many positions at the State Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF)...
