Female lecturer fluent in 3 foreign languages, IELTS 7.5, lost 15kg to compete in beauty pageant

Miss Vietnam 2024 contestant - Nguyen Phuong Dung - made an effort to lose 15kg, master 3 foreign languages and actively participate in charity activities.
Not only is she a talented English teacher with an IELTS 7.5 certificate, Nguyen Phuong Dung - the contestant representing Ho Chi Minh City at the National Miss Vietnam pageant - also makes many people admire her determined journey of self-change.

"There were days when I weighed up to 65kg because of stress and loss of control over my eating," Phuong Dung shared about the past. But with strong will, she lost 15kg, possessing a well-proportioned body with a height of 1.73m and a weight of 50kg. Not only is Phuong Dung excellent in teaching with the ability to fluently use three foreign languages, English - French - Italian, she is also a multi-talented beauty who can play the piano and tennis. She graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and was in the top 15 Miss Tourism at Miss World Vietnam 2022. "Miss World Vietnam 2022 is the first competition I have participated in, and also the first time I have walked on the catwalk," Phuong Dung recalled. From a newcomer, she has constantly trained to improve herself in every aspect. "Coming to Miss Vietnam, I not only dream of the crown but also want to spread positive values to the community," Phuong Dung expressed. She paid special attention to the Home Economics competition - the content honoring the traditional beauty of Vietnamese women. Phuong Dung's performance of the national costume "Dance of Cham Pass" weighing over 8kg at the show on October 26th made a strong impression. "I practiced the aura and Apsara dance in just one day so that the audience could feel the beauty of Cham women", she shared proudly.

Before the final round on December 28, Phuong Dung was still busy with volunteer activities such as cooking at Rau Oi kitchen, distributing rice to cancer patients, and teaching at Ngoc Viet charity class. She was also honored to be invited as a speaker at the "Words that win" seminar of the University of Economics and Finance UEF. With the spirit of constantly learning and improving herself, Phuong Dung is one of the most outstanding contestants of this year's Miss Vietnam National Pageant. Her journey from a teacher to a top contestant is proof of the saying "Nothing is impossible if we really try".
