On the evening of December 28, contestant Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Duy from Can Tho surpassed 58 other contestants to be crowned the highest position in the final night of Miss Vietnam 2024. The titles of first runner-up and second runner-up respectively belonged to Phuong Thanh (Thai Binh) and Cam Ly (Dak Lak).

According to Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, Kieu Duy was chosen because she has a balanced, harmonious body, excellent intelligence and fully meets the contest's criteria of gentleness and knowledge. The judges especially appreciated her foreign language ability - an important factor when participating in Miss International.

Regarding the question of why many contestants who stood out in the presentation did not make it into the top 3, Ms. Dung explained that the results were evaluated based on the entire process, not just the presentation. The three beauties who won the highest prizes have proven their journey and are worthy of their positions.

The remarkable point is the new beauty queen's strong personal story. Kieu Duy grew up in a family without her parents living together, but she always maintained an optimistic attitude and showed her sharing and sympathy for her parents. She believes that her parents' happiness is the most important thing, even if they do not live together - a mindset that is considered progressive.

People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien - Head of the Jury - affirmed that Kieu Duy won the crown convincingly. He highly appreciated her way of answering and behaving, showing her outstanding thinking and intelligence. Although the jury had many heated debates throughout the night about the contestants, in the end they all agreed with this result.

Historian Duong Trung Quoc - Head of the pageant's advisory board - shared that all three contestants in the top 3 of Miss Vietnam National were equally talented, causing the judges to hesitate before making their final decision.

Meritorious Artist Duc Hung was particularly impressed with Kieu Duy's intellectual beauty, considering it a lasting beauty. He emphasized that she possesses a rustic, close beauty that creates sympathy with the other person. The harmonious combination of traditional and modern features, along with foreign language ability and confident communication skills are considered suitable for the standards of the Miss International contest.

Another noteworthy point is the new beauty queen's efforts to improve herself. Kieu Duy has lost 60kg to have her current slim figure, demonstrating determination and strong will. The organizers believe that she will have enough time to continue improving herself, preparing to represent Vietnam at the Miss International 2025 contest.
