Ms. Tran Thi Lanh, Director of Quang Lanh Agricultural Production and Trading Cooperative
Quang Lanh Agricultural Production and Trading Cooperative was established in May 2022, with its main business being agricultural services and cultivating 100 hectares of rice fields. To ensure that the cooperative operates at its best and generates the largest revenue in line with the purpose of large-scale production, Ms. Tran Thi Lanh has invested more than 5 billion VND to equip machinery for production. Currently, the cooperative has 3 land preparation machines, 1 harvester, 4 transplanters, 2 fertilizer machines, 1 drying oven with a capacity of 40 tons/day, and 1 spraying plane.
Quang Lanh Cooperative is mainly exploiting TBR225 rice variety, which is popular in the market, has few pests and diseases, and brings high economic benefits. On average, each crop yields an average of 6 - 7 tons of rice/ha. The entire process is closed from sowing, transplanting, fertilizing, pest control, harvesting, drying, packaging and selling to the market... In 2023, rice prices are good, after deducting expenses, each hectare of rice of the Cooperative earns about 10 million VND/crop. With 100 hectares, the Cooperative earns more than 1 billion VND/crop.

On the eve of the 9th National Farmers' Forum with the theme "Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development listens to farmers", Ms. Lanh sent a number of issues to the Forum with the hope that ministries, departments and branches would listen and resolve them.
Firstly, planning concentrated production areas and stabilizing long-term production. Ms. Lanh gave an example: Thai Binh is considered the "rice granary" of the Red River Delta with the area and productivity being among the top in the North. However, to say that Thai Binh is a concentrated commodity production area, there has not been any long-term planning or construction plan.
Production area planning is also the basis for land allocation to large-scale businesses to have the opportunity to accumulate land more sustainably, helping the business model to be more sustainable.
"Although the Provincial People's Committee has also given many incentives to develop large-scale plantations and large-scale commodity production, the provincial level has not been able to have a comprehensive and comprehensive policy like the national planning, so we are still looking forward to a plan worthy enough to feel secure and steadfast in following the path of large-scale production as it is currently being done," Ms. Lanh emphasized.

Second, there are mechanisms and policies to support the construction of infrastructure serving agricultural production such as: transportation, internal irrigation, canals to meet the increasingly high demands of large-scale commodity production areas.
Third, building brands, trademarks, and origins of goods; tracing the origin of agricultural products. Along with that, we are implementing digitalization of fields, certifying product quality in accordance with VietGap standards, aiming towards organic production, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Fourth, the State needs to support the inclusion of annual land use planning and plans to change land use purposes and invest in the construction of facilities serving the purpose of rice cultivation (rice seedling areas, rice drying areas, etc.). This is also the basis and foundation to support the planning of concentrated, large-scale production areas; gradually forming a more modern and advanced closed production chain.
And finally, for newly established cooperatives, Ms. Lanh really hopes that the State will have a policy to support the purchase of machinery and equipment for agricultural production, because for cooperatives, if they do not have production tools in hand, it is no different than "losing the crop right at home" - Ms. Lanh shared.
